I received a call on 9/6/13 at 9:42am, CDT, from someone with an Indian accent identifying themself as "Microsoft Technical Support," stating that they "had received several error reports from my computer on their monitoring software indicating that my computer was about to crash, and he wanted me to go to my computer so that he could guide me through a "fix."

I asked for his number, so that I could call back to verify the source of the call. He repeated the urgency of the matter, but refused to give me his number. I asked for it again, and he hung up.

I checked my caller ID and found the number was 786-375-9110. I called this number and the same person with an Indian accent answered, as being "Microsoft Technical Support."

I entered the number into a Google Search and found numerous sites and links of complaints and reports of phone abuse, including personal threats.
