#1 Consumer Suggestion

you may be entitled to restitution

AUTHOR: Rachel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 22, 2007

In many states/counties, liens are required to be released in a timely manner. If this is not done, the mortgage company may be required to pay you restitution for your inconvenience. I suggest that you contact your county record office to determine the requirements and send a certified letter to the mortgage company letting them know what they already owe you and that in order to prevent compounding the debt, they need to have your lien released immediately.
If you do not get satisfaction, you can always write a complaint to the CEO, Dan Arrigoni. I know for a fact that US Bank boasts "Five Star Service Guaranteed" and takes the promise seriously. They will pay you for your trouble if there truly was a mistake made.
Good luck.
