After seven years with this bank I had had enough. If you do your banking on the internet you will find that they manipulate your online statements to rip you off.

In one instance the State of California tried to sieze my account. They with drew the siezure within 24 hours. But, US bank placed a 14 day hold on the account and rather than process items that hit the bank before the siezure they deducted processing fees and then overdraft fees rather than pay the items and place the remainder on hold. In either case they never processed  anything and refused to reverse the charges.

In another instance I went to a branch to put money in to cover a check that would be coming in in the next fw days. I asled the teller at the time of there was anything outstanding. She stated No and I was good to go. 72 hours later there was a fee for $35.00 for an item that cleared 48 hours after I deposited the money. No reversal.

The finl issue was on January 23, 2012 I went to the branch to deposit money as I was taking a trip to Los Angeles. I asked the teller at the time I deposited, if there was anything outstanding; she said no and I stated that I wanted to be sure I had a speciffic amount of money in the account for my trip. She stated there was nothing pending. I returned  from LA on the 28th only to find that charges of $30.00 were levied on my account for items that cleared after I had deposited the money.

In all of the aboove instances I had checked my accounts online prior to making an deposits and the next day as well and nothing showed Until the third day. But, the charges were dated back as to appear correct.

Having conatcted an attorney familiar with banking I was informed that the presentation of my accounts online at the time I check, is a legal representation of my account status and I am entitled to my money back.

So if you are an attorney and you read this I would be willing to bet I am not the lone ranger and you should have a good class action suit.

Oh Yes...Its All The Fault of the Big, Bad Bank!

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

Incredible.  Its YOUR ACCOUNT with YOUR money and YOU have to ask the teller what has cleared and what hasn't.  Why do you even need to know this?  Why???  Because its the same old tired story YOU aren't keeping a check register or similar WRITTEN RECORD of your transactions and keeping a RUNNING BALANCE.  You then use the account without having the slightest clue as to what the real available balance is and when you get an overdraft fee, oh yes, its the big bad bank's fault...they're out there trying to "get" the little guy.  You can b***h and moan all you want.  You can go from one bank to another.  You can blame the bank, Obama, the economy, the IRS or any entity you wish but if YOU don't learn how to keep a check register or ledger book and maintain a RUNNING BALANCE, then you will continue paying overdraft fees.  Overdraft fees are 100% totally avoidable...all you need to do is get over the laziness of just checking on line and maintain a written record and running balance.  Then, you don't use the card or write the check if you see your RUNNING BALANCE is less then the planned debit.  Before you make the inane comment, I don't work for them.  But if I did, I'd increase the overdraft fees to increase bank profit since the world is full of lazy people who won't keep written records.
