On 7/19/18, I went to the US Bank Atm, near my home, to withdraw funds from my American Express Bluebird card. I requested $780, yet the machine only dispensed $400. Thinking that maybe the bank had a preset, per transaction withdraw limit, I used my card a second time to request the other $380. However, I got an error message. Looking at my statement on my phone, I saw that the entire $780?had been deducted from my account. So, I approached the teller, with my printed atm reciept, reflecting the $400 I recieved, plus 4 crisp $100 bills, and my time and date stamped, transaction report on my phone. With all this evidence and cameras all around, I figured, the bank would just cheerfully realize the broken atm, give me the difference immeadietly, and recoup, the missing funds from the atm. That didnt happen. Instead I was emphatically told, that the atm is reconcilled at the end of the week, and to file a discrepancy, with my card issueer. So, without leaving the premises, I called my bank, and set up the dispute redolution process. I was now told, if matters couldnt get any worse, that the investigation of the dispute would take 10 days to complete, AND, that until then my missing money or a temporary provisional credit would, not be placed in my account. So, going back to the branch, I explained, all this, and how, myncar insurance is already overdue, and that I have hotel reservations that I have to pay for. Still, being cooly indifferent they reiterated there was nothing theybcould do. I strongly feel, that upon resolution a lame insincere sorry, and only mynfunds returned doesnt even come close to compensating me for what Ive endured. I also believe sweeping policy changes need to occur so thst no one else has to go through what Im going through.

Here’s a sweeping policy change you can undertake:

Deposit your funds into a checking account. Then write checks to the insurance company and use the debit card for hotel expenses. No cash no fuss.
