This company for a fee of $1200.00 gave us a written gauranatee that "you will be placed in a better financial position, regarding your mortgage"

We signed up with the company in April 2010. Now it is October and no modification has been accomplished.

I admit, foolishly, on a verbal statement from US Mortgage, I stopped making my mtg payment to "pay other bills". The initial time length to accomplish the modification was 30 to 90 days.

We live in a high unemployment state. My husband is unemployed. I am on a disabililty retirement. This does not cover the old house payment. Now the request by the mtg co. is to agree to a higher payment with $10,000. added on to the loan to make up for the missed payments.

If we don't agree they will be begin foreclosure procedures.

So please beware and don't get caught up like we have.
