I have received one call every day for past two days from this company. I'm not certain of their physical address but copied what others had said so I could post. I got their number by *69 ing my phone.

To those who cannot reach the company maybe this number will help. 800 634-6792 is number that showed on *69 which IDed call to be made from that number. A web search on the number shows USA Credit. After a second call with no one answering.. I did a web search and found them listed here at ripoffreport.com. I am writing to say don't give these people anything. I don't know why they are calling and not saying anything but I hope they haven't found someway to get info on people through their phone number! Reporting this just incase the above number might help someone as well as myself incase of any fraudulent charges on any of my accounts.

I agree with the consumer. USA Credit obviously uses devious methods on obtaining contact information.

I will quote from the employee "You could have been signing up for a free gift card or a sweepstakes, sometimes that's all it takes to send your phone number to several companies."

I never have applied for sweepstakes or a free gift card.

They have so far called me 11 times in less than a week. I have told them twice so far to stop calling. I have complained to the Do Not Call list, state and government site. Also I have complained to the BBB and to my Governer.

I am on the DO NOT CALL list. How dare they not take me off their list.

In response to the woman with the original complaint....

I NEVER called you a liar. I was simply stating that if you did have a caller i.d. you wouldn't have to dial *69 to get our number. I never used the word liar. It was just made obvious to me that you did not have a caller i.d. as a lot of people do not. I assumed that YOU did not since you had to dial *69. I just wanted you to be aware that we do not hide our number. It does appear on the display. I am just sooooooooooooo sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yes, everyone knows that you can get a name and address and even a map with a person's phone number. You said that you hoped no fraudulent activity would hapeen to your ACCOUNTS. What I meant was that there is no way anyone can get any bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or social security numbers from your phone number. Otherwise, everyone could access that info.

You must have assumed that I was responding in an angry tone or mood. I was not. I thought that the info I gave might be useful to you or someone else. Again, I NEVER called you a LIAR you just misunderstood what I was saying. However, you did feel the need to repond with an angry tone. Yet again, another misunderstading. I guess we both made fools of ourselves.

USA Credit

AUTHOR: Patricia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 09, 2004

To Update my first post: I did discover that the customer service number to USA Credit is 1 800 634-6729 and is correct. As to why it did not dail into their office the first time is a mystery. Sometimes a number called is not routed properly. I know this can happen because one time I was receiving several calls a day from persons trying to reach CNN. Insted of CNN they got me until I reported to the phone company the problem. The last 2 times I dialed the above number I did reach USA Credit so it appears the routing problem has been resolved.

On October 28th of 2004 I received 2 more calls from USA Credit's automated dialer. One at 1:10 pm and another at 3:35 pm. Both times no one answered when I said hello. So I know it must of been the dailer disconnected. This can be very disturbing to persons as they may think it is a harrassment call.
I called the company USA Credit at 3:45 pm same day and requested for the second time that they place me on their do not call llst. So far no one has called again from USA Credit.

No charges were made to any of my accounts which is as it should be. I'm thankful for this website and hope this may help someone trying to contact USA Credit to dispute any fraudulent or unauthorized charges.

In response to the employee of USA Credit who posted a rebuttal to my fist post I'd like to say it was very unprofessional of her to call me a liar by saying I did not possibly have caller ID. How on earth could she know what I did or did not do to stop the calls and find out where they were coming from? Was she in my apartment with me? LOL And those dailers should be illegal but since they are not YET.. I want all companies reading this post to know that if you use them and irritate your prospects, your chances of doing business with them are way less than before.

People beware..... there are websites advertising a Platnium Card and if you read the fine print.. which is sometimes only found by searching for a link to terms and agreements, you can see it is USA Credit behind it. The page I saw was linked from a lotto site and when I got there it was telling me I could get a Platnium Card and repair my credit. After checking terms and conditions through a small link found on front page I found out it was USA Credit and about the charges they deduct. So be really careful out there...

Also people can fight any and all unwanted telephone solicitations (very annoying calls) by going to http://www.donotcall.gov and for more information on this topic go to http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/tcpa.html

Best to all,

PB

RE: Chill out ...

AUTHOR: Patricia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 09, 2004

I am the original poster of this complaint. In response to employee's rebuttal, I have a few things to say. I do have caller ID. She is the same as calling me a liar.

Sometimes a number dialed, although correctly dialed, may be routed incorrectly. I know because it happened to me once. I was receiving all kinds of calls for CNN on my personal 800 #. Don't assume you know everything.

And NEVER call anyone a liar. That is WRONG. Very unprofessional to say what you did. I positively checked the number with *69 Caller Return feature on my phone which gives the callers number. When I called the number I did not reach USA credit. The person I did reach told me the number I dialed was not his number. I dailed it again.. same thing.. He gave me the correct number to Credit USA and then I dailed it and asked to be removed from their call list. This all happened after several calls.

Now as far as your dailer.. they should be illegal.. Apparently they are not YET. Not only does this happen once in a while but it happens within minutes. I know because I received 2 to 3 of such calls within minutes of each other all from your company.

It happened again AFTER asking to be removed from your call list and placed on your DO NOT CALL list. Again I asked to be placed a second time on your do not call list.

As far as being concerned about my personal information being misused; that is my personal right to be concerned about it. I did not say USA credit WOULD use it wrongly but did say I was concerned that they MIGHT if they have accesss to it.

And yes you can retreive lots of info from a phone number!! Apparently your not as web savy as you think. See www.childsafenetwork.com and look for links to such things. They are experts in these matters and say otherwise. From a phone number it could be possible to find out the person's name, where they live, and even print out a map to their home.

In the future, if you wish to remain a professional sounding representative for your company, you would do well NOT to call people liars.

Sincerely,

PB

#1 UPDATE Employee

You've got it all wrong, here's the truth....

First of all, you have the number backwards, that's why you are not getting an answer. It's 1-800-644-6729 or 1-800-644-6720. Obviously you don't have caller id or that number would have appeared on the display. I know because I work in the department that you would reach if you dialed that number.
If we called you, it was in response to a recent inquiry done online. Only your name phone and mailing address was forwarded to the company as someone who may be interested in rebuilding your credit. You should really start to read all of the fine print on any site you go to online. You could have been signing up for a free gift card or a sweepstakes, sometimes that's all it takes to send your phone number to several companies. It does tell you that on those sites. There is no way on earth they can get any other info from your phone number. Get real.
Now, about the hang-ups....a computer actually dials your number and when someone answers, it should transfer you to a live rep to speak with. It does sometimes disconnect accidentally if there are too many calls and not enough reps. It happens rarely though. Probably just a coincidence that it happened to you more than once.
Just chill out, unless someone actually gives USA Credit your info, we cannot get it.
