I am a student that wanted to expedite the passport renewal process to travel with friends. I am educated, internet savvy and unassuming. I went to USPassportNow to try to speed the process up and was impressed with its visual graphics and ease of use. However, when I received the receipt for their services and followed the recommended "checklist" I saw that I still needed to submit all manner of paperwork and payment via the traditional government website. I realized at this time, that the cost of using USPassportNow, even to expedite, was much more than expected. The total cost information was NOT clear or transparent on USPassport's website.

When I attempted to cancel the order, within the 24 hour period identified in their policy, I was met with horrible customer service and a $50 non-refundable fee that was also NOT clear or transparent throughout the process.

I have never been so obviously ripped off in my life and wanted to find a way to respond so that others would not experience the same. USPassportNow may work for some, but I found their process unclear, misleading and ultimately costly. DO NOT USE this site.

Missed The Big Red Flags

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

#1  The Contact section of the website does not show a real physical address, just a canned email form.

#2  Checking the domain registration via WHOIS shows that it is hosted by GoDaddy and the registration is private (Cloaked identity).

#3 You are required to use FedEx to send in paperwork. That's because if you used the US Mail they risk facing federal charges of mail fraud plus they would have to expose their mailing address. They definitely don't want that

Folks, that qualifies as a scam in my book. Legitimate companies have real physical addresses, even if they're operating out of their moms basement. IMO, scammers just love private domain registrations.

If you used a credit card challenge the charge. You may be able to force the credit card company to reveal the actual business address if you indicate a scam is in progress, which it is.

IMO, the whole operation is based on snagging fees for providing info you can get for free on the Dept Of State website. Why be a sucker????
