Vivant Alarm APX Alarm rip off with contract, Provo, Utah

I signed contract with APX alarm company in 2007, then supposedly renewed in 2010.  APX sold out (unbeknownst to us) to Vivant Alarm.  One day, our signs were changed in our yard, and new stickers were sent to us by Vivant to be placed in our windows. Fast forward to April this year, I called Vivant to ask if I was in anyway contracted to them.  I was told "no".  I had received a better offer through my insurance company.  I switched over to ADP on April 5th, with a technician coming to the house, him calling Vivant through the security panel and switching us over to ADP's monitoring station.  Done deal, so I thought.  Until I realized in June that Vivant had debited 3 months of payments (April, May & June). Here I am paying 2 alarm companies, and Vivant isn't even monitoring us.  I called Vivant , "customer services" says we owe them $1,000+ for the balance of the contract. They emailed me a contract that was dated April 2010, that we signed ( odd, because I have no record of this, nor do we ever remember re-signing a 39 month deal). 

Additional information:  I found out more information about Vivant Alarm; there are 1,457 closed complaints filed against them with the BBB, which instigated a Government Action to be filed against Vivant by the following States:  Virginia, Oregon, Arkansas, and California.  I would never have entered into an agreement with this company!  It is tragic that these sell outs are forced upon us. Indeed, my contract states that "APX (or its asignee) to debit my account", which, means that I am holding the bag for this contract.  right?  Does anyone see a way out at all, since there are so many actions and complaints filed against this company?  Any information would be helpful. thank you so much.
