Do not use Vivint....they gouge customers by making them pay for a service they aren't receiving. I've been paying on this dang account for a year an a half without service because I moved out and sold the house I had service at.
My account was set to renew so I called to cancel and because they did not receive written cancellation one month in advance they are auto renewing for another YEAR. This is not good business practice! How the heck can I find someone to "Take over my account" if I would not recommend them?!!

Last June or July the FTC made it illegal for alarm companies to auto-renew anyones contract. Call Vivint and tell them that you are going to report them to the State Attorneys office, FTC, and BBB if they don't permit you to cancel your services immediately. Don't listen to the B.S. that cancellation departments give you, all companies lie to prevent people from canceling. Send a written letter canceling your services certified mail and request a return receipt so they can't say, "Oh, we never got it" - Best of luck!
**to the lady who clearly is an idiot: ADT does not send "some guy 3 months later in plain street clothes" - ADT guarantees service calls within 24 hours- GUARANTEED... Also, EVERYONE who works for ADT not only has thorough background and drug testing completed, but they are uniformed, licensed professionals. You clearly are either not that bright, or you work for Vivint/a competitor... I'm not sure why you would even mention ADT when the gentlemen posting this didn't mention ADT. Get a life lady.
