RIPOFF REPORT: vs Vonage Phone Company

                                      1945 Zettler  Center  Drive

                                      Columbus, OH 43223

                                                                                                                                                                 November 2, 2015

Today I just received an email message “Vonage Visual Voicemail Notification – New Voicemail Received – Not Transcribed”. Below “You have an important message from Vonage. Please check your voicemail.”

They also repeat this message in Spanish which has no appeal to me because I don’t speak the language!

Similarly, message with the same tone have been received on a weekly basis “Action Required: Repeat Payment Failure Notice”and almost every chance they get.

I tried to communicate with them about twice by mail but they would not respond. I got the impression that the reason for this is, they want you to hear their side of the story but not what you have to say. They want me to stick to whatever agreement that caused me the first time to call for installation. (Example is when the Director of Marketing sent me a commercial ad by mail, and agree to the requirement, such as the price you want. Next thing you know you’re calling a number “To Order” that connects you directly to an installer). This constitute a fraud, because an installer could very well be an outside Contractor doing to effect  what he was told to do, regardless of an agreement Mr. Jeff Fisher’s letter obliges  you to concur.

Earlier, when I first got informed that I have a problem with my account, I had to remind them that I have been with them twice, for 3 years at $12.56 a month, the first time, moved to Broadvoice for 5 months, then  back with them the second time in May 2015, on a promised for lesser fee of $9.99 based on Mr. Jeff Fisher Commercial ad.

They may seem to forget that this is a promised made, but make no mistake, this is a problem of their own, not mine.

Meanwhile, I got a problem with my Bank Card but the problem is entirely personal and nothing to do with Vonage nor with other merchant who gets automatic payments. By the way, I did not have problem paying my other merchants monthly but not Vonage. This is clearly trying to rip me off every chance they got. Can you imagine that even if I’ve paid them three months in advance at $9.99 mo, it was never acknowledged that payment has been received?  So, I don’t know what they’re trying to tell me by not rendering me full service that I am entitled to, like transcribing my voicemail as they used to do.

As I recall, this is how much money they rip me off, since the beginning of this year. First week In January, 2015, when I decided to terminate Vonage Service for a better Broadvoice Service they commended me for the 3 years I’ve been with them, immediately acknowledges with appreciation that I have $0.00 outstanding balance to end my service. Unfortunately, that was not the end for me, because the next thing I know, my Visa Card got charged for $12.56 before the end of that month. This is just another case that Vonage thinks, you’re all paid up but someone else wants to rip you off! This is also another case where Vonage cannot be trusted for as long as they are free to collect money from my Visa Card, as they will always attempt to rip you off.  How do you substantiate this action are not true if I cannot even send you an email (or letter), because this email does not accept reply or your CEO prevents me from responding.  How do you explain to have a “Director of Marketing” if you don’t stand behind what he wrote me “A whole lot has changed since I left, and we want to make sure you don’t miss out on everything Vonage has to offer, including a 1 year price guarantee.” So, who are you trying to fool? I bet everyone of your customers have been fooled by that promised?

Here are just 3 of the 5 promises you made to me in writing:

 1. Save all year – lock in savings for 12 months.

 2. Get your voicemail as readable text – sent via email or SMS text!

3. Get a 30-day money back guarantee – see www.vonage.com/mbg for detail.

How could I not call Vonage so corrupt, if I’m not even free to express my legal rights! How could I, if everytime you send me “Action required: Repeat Payment Failure Notice” you just want me to restore the action you want in order to collect payment free from my Visa Card without my permission but not to respond in anyway, in writing or otherwise?

5 months later, from May 2015 I got billed for $14.65 every month until I got a problem, I think in July with my Bank Visa Card, which is personal and has nothing to do with Vonage.

Anyway, that was not the real issue here, it wasn’t for any merchant except for Vonage because it is clear it’s only them who tries to rip me off. To set the record straight, this is how much I should have paid them 8 x $9.99 from May, 2015 to the end of the year, but they should return $12.56 for January and 3 x $14.65 for May thru July 2015. Other than that, I expect nothing but a 2 way communication from the CEO of the Vonage company or quit bothering me, because I don’t owe them anything.
