I came across Vonage services back in January of 2007. I realized that their internet phone service they provide will allow me to transfer my phone # any where I wanted to. I ordered the transfer of two phone numbers, and started to pay $30.05 dollars on each line each month since then. Only, lately , to discover that one of those phone lines was not transferred what so ever.

Instead Vonage issued me a new different number and was billing me for it since then. When i found that out, I tried to address this issue with their account manager ( In PHILIPPINE ) by the name Jose Benedicto, I asked him to refund my six months worth of fees for a phone line that I have never used nor I ordered or aware of its existence. He explained to me that Vonage system canceled the transfers of my original order and issued me new different phone number instead.

He went on to explain that I failed to respond to their inquirers, back in February, therefore I am responsible for the new phone # assigned and its fees. I have explained that I was not aware of the new # he is talking about or the inquirers his company made . His responds was he can not do anything about it, and the best thing he can do is to issue me a credit for one month only providing that I will restart the process of transferring of the original # all over again.

I felt like everybody in customer service is trained to blame the customer for any mistake might happen on any account , they would argue and argue and never accept the responsibility of their actions. I asked him why the process did not stop completely when they did not received a satisfactory respond from my side as they claim.

Why the process back in February chose automatically and without my consent to issue me a different # and charge me for it. Why they did not send me a notification of termination instead. I told him if I order a PC from IBM and I fail to complete the process IBM or any respected company will terminate the order. IBM will never send me Apple Macintosh computer instead and charge me for it.

I have to say that this is not the first time encounter with Customer Services at Vonage. I have at least three different occasions where I found my self extremely frustrated with their customer service rep. You barely can here them, (your call will be routed to the PHILIPPINE) it is also hard to understand their English accent. They are poorly trained to handle such circumstances. It is not first class customer service that reflects Vonage image and reputation.

If you want to become frustrated, humiliated, feel guilty and stupid call this # 866-243-4357
not to mention they failed to give me back my money that they took without providing me with the service I have requested.
