I paid for 10 years for the most comprehensive plan, the "superior" plus additional coverage for cancer. When the dog got cancer, VPI paid less than one-quarter of the bills. When I asked numerous veterinarians which pet insurance they would recommend, and which to stay away from, they all agreed VPI, once a great plan, is now the worst.
