Recently I called Walmart & talked to someone in returns regarding unopened food items & wanted to know their store policy.
I was told they would issue a store credit but today I tried to return a couple of unopened food items & they would not issue a store credit.
There policy is to replace it with food items. What does it matter to Walmart?
If I were issued a merchandise credit I would still have to spend it @ Walmart.
The manager was called & she was the worst manager that I ever encountered & would not issue a store credit.
Fine..
I will be shopping less @ Walmart in the future because your store policy is not customer friendly & neither is your store manager.

DON'T CARE WHAT U THINK OF MY EXPERIENCE
AUTHOR: anonymous - (USA)

In short. don't care what you think of my experiences or if you even believe it.
But I have just made a complaint online with the state & the fed. govt. regarding possible fraud or abuse with the AZ DES & THE USDA regarding Walmart practices regarding returns with an ebt card & also emailed Walmart.com to their corporate office telling I reported it via email to the authorities..
Maybe they don't care what I think & think they can possibly break state & federal law unless someone notifies the state & the fed. authorities..
Well all I can say is the state of az of des & the usda can decide if any laws were broken because it's no coincidence when I run into difficulty returning unopened food items with an ebt card at 2 different stores.
I called all the store retailers here & asked them their policy about this issue & they said state law requires that the unopened food item that was bought with an ebt has to be refunded back onto the ebt card but apparently they are training walmart cus. service reps to handle it in a way to discourage returns because the bottom line is walmart would lose money from refunding the money back onto the ebt card.
So to the last person to rebutt my experience is why don't you get a life cuz u cannot possibly know what I experienced but me.
You're probaly one of those classy, special, toothless people who love Walmart & BUY everything at walmart.

another lousy return situation
AUTHOR: anonymous - (USA)

I was told at the customer service counter that I would have to exchange the item for something that cost that much or more & bring it back to the cus. service clerk. So in disgust I just said I would give it to someone.
I did not want to walk all the way around the store & back & forth for something that costs about 4.00 or less.
Needless to say I was one pissed off FORMER customer.
I wonder why Walmart has the absolute lousiest return policy involving ebt food purchases?
With their policy it is impossible to get an ebt return on your card because in AZ you have to exchange it.
But I called Safeway, Frys, Albertsons, Bashas, Winco & Costco & their policy is they take the product back & put the money back onto your ebt card.
I guess because Walmart sells more food & is the biggest retailer in the US & Mexico I suppose they think can have unfriendly customer returns & the owners can make more billions & provide lousy pay & benefits to their employees.
I will be shopping anywhere but Walmart.

I'm actually surprised that you could return food at all. What was it?
