While going through the Wachovia/Wells Fargo take over, I contacted a W.F representative to ensure that my bill pay was set up correctly. After confirmation that payments were scheduled on time etc... I left for vacation. While in NYC at a restaurant my credit card was declined. I called the credit card company to find that my 500.00 payment was not received. After going back and  forth with W.F. and the credit card company it was determined that the error was on WF'S part. They assured me that they would take care of the overdraft fees and the interest incurred. 5 days of pure torture dealing with these people they then decide they will not cover any of the fees or interest because the address to the credit card company was input incorrectly. THEY are the ones who input the information during the takeover.

While at Wachovia all my payments made it to my credit card company every month and on time so CLEARLY this was their mistake. They refused to cover the fees. I decided to close the account. After 2 request, one through email on their website and one through a male representative to cancel the account I receive another email stating I have been charged an insufficient funds fee again. I call the representative who tells me there are no notes in the computer from the previous representative so she will not be able to refund the insufficient funds fee AND that I will not be allowed to close the account until the automatic fee payment is covered.

I told her that I will pay the automatic fee payment but WILL not cover the insufficient funds b/c I requested the account to be closed 5 days ago and this would never have happened if they had completed the request the first time. She then explained that they will send my account to collections for the other half of the over draft fee. I asked her to please look at my account and she will see I have NEVER bounced anything in the 15 years the account has been open. She end our conversation with "there is nothing more I can do" This is by far THE WORST customer service I have experienced in a while. I would definitely think twice about dealing with them when they can't even complete the task of closing an account after two request and then will not take ownership of their mistakes.
