This company touts itself as a payment processor allowing businesses to accept credit cards. They fail to provide the services as promoted. We are a legal support and research company. Prior to opening an account we specifically inquired as to whether or not our business was acceptable because in their TOS this company does specify that it does not accept billing for legal fees. We were assured that our business model was acceptable. We proceeded to open an account. We provided all requested documentation. There was no objection. We were contacted via email by an account executive and asked to call to discuss. We called the number provided repeatedly and received only voice mail - never a return call. We contacted theircustomer service and were assured that all was in order, and that our account was set up.

We communicated WEPAY information to our clientele and invoiced via WEPAY. We began receiving payments via credit card. After about a week, when the payments coming in continued to show up as "pending" did we become concerned and attempted to contact customer support. Only then did we receive an email indicating that because our business model was susceptible to a high chargeback rate, they would not be able to process our account.

Our complaint is that upon making this determination they should have contacted us and let us know. Instead they allowed payments to be received from customers that we could not access.

When we complained we got the tyical "we're sorry for the inconvenience" line, bu no meaningful explanation as to why they allowed us to continue to invoice customers, allowed payments to continue to come in, without a word as to the status of the account until we inquired.

Needless to say, we are back with paypal. Avoid this company. Their model may be good, but their staff is incompetent. Communication and coordination within the company is nonexistent and they have no regard whatsoever for the problems they cause their customers with their cavalier approach to customer service.

If we dealt with our clients the way these people do, we would be out of business in a month - as wepay deserves to be.
