My husband and I were suckered into buying into this company...$15000,000 for the timeshare plus at the time a maintenance fee that was $650 per year and then increased to $850 per year. (not to mention the special additional maintenance fee that showed up in our mailbox a few months ago. Very simply they said we want to upgrade things around here, you all owe us an extra $850 by this date.. a few months in the future. Who, these days, is sitting on 850.00 so they can upgrade lounge chair pillows!!)
Money was good at that time we bought in and we thought we could treat family with this, etc. But ANyway! In the next 2 years we tried on 6 occasions to book a trip everywhere from Florida to Ireland to Dubai to China....from three weeks to 5 months in advance. We were always told...sorry...not available. So on top of paying their fee and "maintenance fee" we had to book a separate hotel.
After 2 years (we payed off the 15,000 on a credit card) we ceased to pay their maintenance fee... Why are we paying $850 a year for "maintenance" that we never get to look at? We had clearly been conned. Of course they threatened to send us over to a collection agency...they haven't yet... but after 3 years now of not paying their maintenance fee we just received a bill for "maintenence" of 3300.00 plus the new "special assessment maintenance fee" of 850 (for all of us with money coming out of our a*s for lounge chair upgrades) That $3300 includes approx $1000 in penalties and interest. I suppose the drill is I am supposed to be so desperate to protect my credit that I will pay anything they ask. For surely if I do not pay their special assessment for upgrades I will be sent to collections too. But the thing is When I weigh bad credit against extortion, I will take the bad credit anytime. In both situations I lose something, only by paying do these scumbags gain.

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront ... I found these articles that speak precisely about this, you should read them, that might help you to resolve many doubts:

When my husband and I bought a timeshare at Raintree Vacation Club the salesman promised us a lot of things, we signed a document with all the promises. We didnt read the contract again until we come back home and we realized that the paper signed with all the promises wasnt with the rest of the package. Fortunately, we were able to canceled, we contacted a mexican firm of lawyers called Mexican Timeshare Solutions to help us out. You should contact them too, no fees upfront, they give you a free consultation, this is their website:
