I was a first time buyer in mid October of 2004. As most people my age I have bad credit. I finally got a break when I got a call from Eric Rose with West Way sales team. He said they are "specialist" in dealing with poor credit. So I ventured down to see what he had to offer. I was shocked to find that my dream of owning a truck might actually happen. I picked out a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT single cab 4 cyl stick shift. I liked the truck and thought it might actually be a good fit.

Once the truck was picked out we went and sit down to start the game. I was shocked to find that they were going to be able to get me in this truck for less than 300 a month. I had a 1999 saturn to trade in, nothing was wrong with the vehicle, and they offered my 1000 for the saturn. I was pleased but I was hoping for 1500 to 1700. Then I was offered 3000 in rebates. The sticker for the truck was 16,400.

I went to the finance office to finalize the papperwork after 6 hours. The finance person was very pleasaent and cheery. I thought everything was going to be fine. I filled out all the papperwork that I could, but had to return with the title to my saturn the following day. When I came in the following day pressured for time, Finance had me to sign a couple more pieces of papperwork. Bear in mind that this was my first time to buy a vehicle on my own. I didnot know what all I signed.

I was surprised to find out in mid December when my first payment was due it was 415.95. The statement said I financed 19400. It was after the fact that I found out that they were supposed to give me a copy of my contract, it took them until mid January, and after repeated phone calls before I received it. I could not understand how a 16000 vehicle with 4000 in rebates and trade in could come out to be financed 19400. I was told by Jefery the sales manager and Mr Marsh the assistant sales manager that it was the fees and the warranties that caused it to go up. The said because of the bad credit they had to use a company called Centrix.

I checked my own credit score and it was 650. That is not a bad score and not worth adding 7000 in fees and tax's to the total price of the vehicle.

I just want every one out there know that West Way Ford is the worst dealership that there is in the country if not the world. I have not received any explaination for the extra fees as of yet. The battle is still going on.

I hope someone reads this and is able to at least give me peace of mind.

#6 Consumer Suggestion

I had the same problem with westway and I even reported it on this web site.

AUTHOR: Cojuana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 23, 2005

Do you want to do something about it?

I had the same problem with westway and I even reported it on this web site. I was also financed through Centrix which happens to be just about as worst as westway when it comes to conducting business. Since there is no one who will take on the car dealers why don't the consumers take them on? It seems that we are always looking for someone to help bail us out. A contract is a contract and you have to honor it but it is up to the consumer to put a stop to it. We can not knowingly let Westway hoodwink another unsuspecting buyer. I want to organize a protest. Nothing hurts a car dealership more than sales. I want to have neon signs and people chanting. I want the customers inside of Westway to ask what are they out there for? What did you guys do? I want the news cameras to show up the word needs to get out. I want to pump fear into the hearts of others that try to do this. I think that a law suit is inevitable against Westway. Maybe a lawyer will see us out there and want to help. If you think you might want to participate email me Cojuana123@yahoo.com

I know the old saying hind site is 20/20. And I agree. I should not have let my emotions get the best of me. My peace of mind is that maybee I have helped a young or younger person understand how sometimes if not all the time you have to keep a leavel head on your shoulders when dealing with major purchases. I learned a valuable leasson and It is one that I will never forget. Thanks for the response.

You didn't know what you signed? What's the matter, can't you read?

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 17, 2005

Dude, all car dealers do this exact same thing. So, unless you plan on losing a ton of money each time you buy, you better learn how to read what you sign.

It's not hard. You pick up the paper and start at the top. Bring your cell along so you can call your parents if you run into a word you don't understand.

There are a couple of things you need to be especially concerned about. One of them is total amount financed.

There will be a number written there. Don't sign unless you agree to the number. If it says 19 and it should be 16, then don't sign.

Bring your calculator along. You take the total financed and divide it by the number of months in your loan.

For example, a four year loan is 4 times 12, or 48 months. That means you will make 48 payments.

Take the $19,400 and divide it by 48. The answer is $400 each month. That's your payment.

You never listen to a car dealer. They all lie.

You always read the papers. That's where you will find the real deal.

If you read the papers, and you don't like the deal, you get up and say no thanks.

Once you sign, you own it pal. The car. And the payments.

You want peace of mind?

You had a good car. You gave it away for cheap.

Now, you got this nonsense to deal with. If you can't pay, you end up getting the truck taken away.

Then, you go back on the city bus. Or, the shoe leather express.

What the lesson here?

Well, I'd say it's much better to have a good Saturn with no payment instead of a new truck with a big payment that you might not be able to make one month.

THEY ADD EXTRA CHARGES AND OTHERS IN SO IT BRINGS THE TOTAL PRICE UP AND THE finance CHARGES UP..

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

Special Financing *JOKE*

WHAT THEY DO IS ADD EXTRA CHARGES THAT YOU *THE BUYER* DO NOT SEE IS CALLED BACK HALF OF THE DEAL.

THEY ADD EXTRA CHARGES AND OTHERS IN SO IT BRINGS THE TOTAL PRICE UP AND THE finance CHARGES UP..

I BOUGHT A 1995 CAR BACK IN 1997 AND DID THE Special Financing *JOKE* AND THE TOTAL WNET UP AFTER I SIGNED THE PAPERS AND EVERYTHING WAS SET IN STONE!!

I ASKED WHAT HAPPEND TO THE TOTAL HW DID IT GO UP....? JACKASS SLAES MEN HAD NO ANSWERS FOR ME.

SO AROUND 2 WEEKS LATER I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR WARRANTY WORK BECUASE I HAD BALNCE OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY *I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THIS*

A MAN SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM WAS TALKING WITH A WOMAN WAITING ON HER CAR" AND SHE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT Special FinancinG,AND HE EXPLAINED IT IN FULL HOW THEY RUN THE SCAM AND YOU *THE BUYER* NEVER SEE THE HIDDEN CHARGES OR EXTRA FEE'S!!

I SEEN A DEAL ON 20/20 A LONG TIME AGO WHERE SALES MEN TAKES CLASSES ON DOING Special Financing AND THEY TEACH THEM HOW TO DO BACK HALF OF THE DEAL...

SO THATS HOW THEY GOT YOU..........

f**kING RIPOFF ARTIST......MOST TO ALL CAR SALES MEN ARE *CROOKS* *IDIOTS* *MORNONS* *THIEFES*

THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR AS LONG AS YOU SIGN THE PAPERS TO BUY THE CAR.......
