Why-not-lease-it Sears Leasing Department Bad Buisness Practices Manchester New Hampshire

So our refrigerator broke and we needed a new one but had to save up for one which would take a few months. We decided to lease one for a few months until we could gather the money to buy one so we decided on going to Sears. When we got there we picked out a refrigerator that was $900. We were quickly approved and paid the upfront cost which was a couple hundred dollars.

We decided to take delivery instead of having it delivered to save time. We were told after the 5 month lease was up we could have the option to buy. After the lease was up we had saved money to buy the fridge. We called and everytime they were completely unprofessional. They proceeded to tell us that our state did not allow a payoff option and that we woul have to continue paying the lease fee with only 10 out of 186 dollars going toward the payoff.

They still refuse to pick up the equipment and continued charging us the lease fee of 186 a month. I figure I will end up paying 4 thousand dollars for a 900 dollar refrigerator by the time I finish paying for it since they won’t let me pay it off. They are forcing me to pay the financing charges for a very long time and are getting 176 of the 186 as financing charges every month and 10 dollars is going toward the payoff. I don’t know if Sears is aware of what is going on but they should know that their customers are being taken advantage of.
