I am so disappointed in myself. I have been shopping online for years and always do my homework ahead of time. I thought the Wirefly promises were too good to be true, but their website (and their sister sites) are very smooth and professional.

What secured my decision to purchase from them was the high approval rating from CNET, a trusted source. This company is so horrible and my experience is so similar to so many others out there, I wonder about the integrity of CNET or who is doing their evaluating. I'm sure that all the positive feedback out there for Wirefly is done by their own staff.

I've tried calls and emails to Wirefly/Inphonic and had the same result as others. I kept my last two email comments to be used in filing my complaint with the BBB and sites like this. It is true you get what you pay for. Stay away from this company as far away as possible. Here are my email comments. Happy reading:

The time is 9:46pm PDT on July 13, 2005. This is my third email correspondence to your company with no response. I have attempted to call three times to do this on the phone per the instructions on your site only to be placed in queue for 15 minutes each time before I hung up. I tried to call the suggested number of (888) 947-3359 and the Customer Service number (888) 378-8809, and both go to the same place. Please consider this an OFFICIAL CANCELLATION of any order placed with your company. My order HAS NOT shown up, even though my "credit" was approved through the wireless carrier a week ago and I paid extra for next day shipping. Your website says nothing but "your order is being shipped."

It has now said that for more than four days - with no shipment information showing. I cannot cancel the order by following the suggested directions as there is no shipping information listed - even though the order supposedly shipped. Your company ported my number to a new carrier the other day yet I have never received my phone, creating major challenges.

I have gone and purchased my equipment directly from the wireless provider. If by chance someone is home when the order is eventually delivered, it will be refused. If my credit card is charged, I will request my credit card company to open an official investigation and payment will be withheld.

I have read the numerous complaints throughout the internet about your company and now have my own story to add. Your company is underhanded, misleading and your customer service is non-existent. This correspondence is being copied to be available for my attorney if necessary. I learned the hard way after sending the first email to copy prior to sending, otherwise it disappears.

Next email sent to Feedback on 7/14/05 at 6:44 pm PDT

This order has been canceled. This is now the fourth email attempt at contact with your organization and the third notification of cancellation. Additionally, numerous voice mail messages have been left over the past two days on different extensions, (including that of the CEO) at your Inphonic corporate office at (202) 333-0001 confirming that this order is canceled.

Despite all of this, for some reason, I received an email today that my order was shipped today and scheduled to arrive tomorrow - one full week after I ordered it and three days after my number was mysteriously ported away by your organization.

Following your protocol, I have called FedEx and Refused Shipment prior to their attempted delivery. I have contacted the wireless carrier to inform them of the situation. I have also filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau against your organization and joined the hundreds of other extremely dissatisfied customers who have posted information on various websites online.

I will reiterate what I stated in yesterdays email through this "Feedback" option, and that is that I will dispute any charges I find from your organization on my credit card. If necessary, I will seek legal action against your company. A copy of this email is being kept for records.
