You've seen the ads everywhere online: "Do NOT Pay For White Teeth Learn the trick discovered by a Mom to turn yellow teeth white for $5. www.consumertipswe" Click on them and they tell you where to get "free" samples of teeth whitener. But these samples are far from free. If you read the fine print, which is in light grey and nearly invisible, they contain "opt out" offers for the "clubs" World Club Fitness and Weight Loss Resources, which will ding your credit card or bank account for $17.32 each month. And the tooth cleaner is also an opt-out deal. They will charge you $79.95 + $5.95 shipping and handling for your ongoing supply of Dazzle White or whatever they are calling their product at the time. You will be sent TWO supplies of tooth whitener from two different sources, which you must carefully return following detailed instructions if you wish to cancel. These charges appear on your bank or credit card statement under the mysterious name "Varimi LLC. [continued below]....
....." If you don't watch for them carefully, they can sneak by. And, if you try to cancel, they do not honor your request; cancel some but not all of the items; or say you have to call each company individually. But they actually have your files at their fingertips. If you ask to talk to a supervisor, he/she will only repeat what's on their script: Even though you say you cancelled, you "don't have the cancellation number, so your money is non-refundable." I cancelled as thoroughly as possible, and they still kept taking out $17.99 until I called them yet again. And again they refused to refund my money, but they have apparently cancelled everything.
