WORLD VOICE LINK INC PAGER AND 800 VOICEMAIL RIP-OFF

This serves as a followup to the seemingly growing number of people complaining about the modus operandi of World Voice Link Inc's offer of a pager and 800 voice mail account. Sometime last year I was contacted by an alleged account executive from the above-mentioned company offering me a pager and 800 voicemail account retrieval anywhere in the U.S. The offer was for a non-refundable $49.95 for the pager and $19.95 subsequently after for the voicemail service. Upon agreeing I was put through a process that involved confirming information after each voice prompts, which I readily complied with. I almost completely forgot about this offer until I got my phone bill in January 2002 that included a charge of $19.95 by a company ILD Teleservices, Inc. on behalf of World Voice Link, Inc. I contacted ILD's customer service and was advice that they only process the billing for World Voice Link Inc. and that I should be contacting the latter instead. I was then provided an 800 customer service number for World Voice Link, Inc. The automated announcement after contacting said 800 number confirmed that it was for World Voice Link, Inc. and was put on hold as other customers are purportedly being served. After a significant lenght of time of being on hold I decided to hangup and try to search for a website for this company and eventually found this site to air my grievance. I want to cancel this service as I never received my pager and therefore cannot use the 800 voicemail account described in their sales pitch. I intend to pursue this further in the coming weeks by perhaps researching this company further and if necessary file a formal complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau to avoid further billing from this company and perhaps prevent other people from falling prey to these kinds of bogus offers.
