WWR booking # PO468-05
WWR contracted a company in Georgia to collect goods and to load into a shipping cntr for shipment to the UK. Goods collected Oct 13th, 2004 - still in georgia as at 26th April 2005. Ultimate owner of goods in the UK has reported having paid to WWR $2500.00 to attend to the colelction and shipping.

On the 18th March, the owner of the goods in the UK was recommened to Ambrit USA Inc -an international forwarding company based in Florida - to ask for assistance (tel 9564 484 9086, fax 954 484 9074, email malcolm@ambritusa.com, web site www.ambritusa.com)

After some telephone and email exchanges, Malcolm of Ambrit spoke wit the company in Georgia who have the goods to ascertain they were still there and find out the payment situation. Ambrit also visited to the known offices of WWR - their correspondence shows suite # 480 but this has changed to suite 415 - which is an office management company. receiptionist advised that WWR onbly visit the office on rare occasions to collct any mail and telephone messages. Anmbrit card left requesting call back.

Ambrit also visited the better Business Bureau located on the 3rd floor of the same office building. BBB adviused that in the last 3 yrs they have received 134 complaints a gainst WWR and that they havd had 12 complaints this year. BBB also advised that the membership for WWR with BBB has been suspended.

Ambrit finally recvd a reply to several emails to WWR - the reply from WWR "due to a variety of factors that include a current economic downturtn, excessive bad debt, write offs and strategic business decisions that resulted in negative cashflow" and it goes on and also states WWR are closing down and have not yet filed for protection under bankruptcy laws but it is an option. WWR also states "Our commitment remains in effect until the last shipment is delivered and/or resolved"

In the second paragraph of their letter they state they cannot pay its current outstanding debt and therefore any clients have to make their own financial arrangementsa with companies who have their goods.

If anyone requires a copy of this letter from WWR (which is dtated 04/21/05) please email me - through the rebuttal key we would also be pleased to assist in any outstanding shipments.

Call the Federal Maritime Commission

AUTHOR: Sharon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 04, 2005

Doug, the FMC was looking into this family because of the whirlwind nature of their company's life cycle. They existed for about two years, started off looking OK, and their intelligent and well-spoken owner managed to sweet-talk the authorities with lies and excuses.

Patrick Costadoni and his mother Lucy Norry were the owners. Towards the end, Patrick brother Cecil, a minister, appeared to mollify angry customers. Each swore up and down that they were doing nothing wrong, it was the fault of the shippers they hired. The shippers, mostly reputable companies, never got paid any of the money that the victims had paid to WWR (as I'm guessing you already know). I bet they had to shut down because they couldn't find anyone to take their loads anymore. But by my calculations, and based on the number of complaints, they must have made over a million dollars from this scam. 135 complaints cannot possibly be each and every customer, and at $6000-$10,000 per job, that's a million right there. Only they know what the real take was. The kicker is that Patrick always claimed that WWR never had enough money to actually pay the shippers. "Negative cash flow", as he put it.

Contact the Federal Maritime Commission (202-523-5807), and they can direct you to any other appropriate authorities.
