XCEL ENERGY KNOWS THEY ARE THE ONLY SOURCE AND USE IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE!!! Amarillo Texas

I really wish I could get some people together to tell the entire country what a rip off this company really is. I have contacted media and they won't touch Xcel... I wonder why when I see that they sponser every news station in town.

It started when I signed up for the online view and pay so I could pay my bill online. I didn't receive e-mails on time and was late on my payment so I asked them to stop the online and send me a paper bill. The person on the phone was very helpful and told me no problem.

Around the 9th of the month I hadn't gotten a bill, and my bill is usually due on the 6th. So that's 3 late payments (not my fault). The person on the phone this time said I had to contact pay pal to stop my online view and pay. The first person didn't mention this to me at all.

I called and cancelled the online view and pay and still didn't recieve bills. I just called and paid on the 6th of every month instead of fighting with them.. mistake on my part. I had a very close family member pass away in June and the last thing on my mind was my stupid electric bill. They shut off my electricity without a disconnect notice or anything.

When it was disconnected I was at home with my 10 month old baby and I called xcel and immediatly paid it. It was over 100 degrees outside and they said it could take 7 days to turn it back on. I called multiple times begging them to turn it on because I had nowhere to go. One lady told me she would put me on the emergency connect list and have it on it 12 hours, didn't happen. Some told me that in Texas they have a week some said 3 days. They didn't care at all three days later I got ahold of a supervisor in Colorado and my electricity was on in 30 minutes.

I still would recieve my bills sparatically and I would call and complain everytime and they would give me the run around about who's fault it was. Then I got a bill that said that bookkeeping found an error on my account and I have to pay $200 that I didn't pay at one time. I called and they said pay it or make pay arrangements or your service will be disrupted. So what was my choice?? I paid it. I was late this past December by one day after NOT recieving a bill and then they added a $175 deposit to my account making my bill over $300 right before Christmas.

They don't know what they are talking about at all, nobody is on the same page up there. I swear trained monkeys could do their jobs better. Everytime I get caught up with them they find a way to push me back down and I'm stuck in a monopoly. I can't just go to wal-mart and buy electricity I have to pay them no matter how bad they rip me off if I want my family to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It really sucks, I thought we lived in America where big corportations couldn't steal from us!! I guess not, we have no control.

I reported them to the public utilities commission and recieved a letter stating that they investigated the problem and Xcel has assured them that the "problem" has been solved! WHAT??? They say everything is okay so it just is??? I don't get it!

Xcel energy wants to complain about needing to raise prices to cover costs! BS!!!! they rip so many people off they don't need to cover costs they need to bribe other companies into liking them so the crap they do won't destroy them. I want to know why they advertise with the news stations here in Amarillo, it's not like there is competition! They need the support from the media to continue ripping people off! I think in numbers something could be done, I am just trying to find enough people with the same problem so we can do something about this!!
