I used a $200.00 gift card toward a pair of car speakers. I was told by a fellow named Laran that he could have there top of the line Kickers installed. He says that the quality is just under there premium Bose models. He also said that they sell for $150 a pair. I looked them up on my phone and Best Buy had these Kickers for $150 a pair. We agree and I wait outside. He comes back a few minutes later and says that my Mazda 3 need special wiring harnesses that will bring the price to $274. I had that bad vibe in my gut but thought they've been around for 50 years so what the heck. I've had the speakers now for a year and never really thought they sounded that much better then my original ones. Well last week I had a short in one of them and a good friend of mine helped me get inside there to take a look. First thing I did was get the model #. It happened to be Kickers CS68 model. I went on line and saw that these are there low end $59.00 a pair basic replacement speakers. I couldn't find anyone in New York selling them for more then that. I called Ziebart and asked for Laran. He didn't deny putting budget speakers in my car. He said that they cant get wholesale prices like BestBuy does and that they have to pass the extra cost on to the customers. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone for a minute. I told him to have an appointment setup with his manager. He gets someone else on the phone who says he'll call over to the West Henrietta store where there GM Tim Cone works. I can meet with him. So I go over to that place and tell the lady at the desk I have an app. with Tim Cone. I waited for this man for 3 hours and he never came out. I went home and called to talk with him on the phone and he was never available. I've left 3 messages since to call me. It's been 5 days since then and I'm not expecting anything to happen. By the way, The original wiring was used to install these things. I've kept my reciept and am thinking about a lawsuit. The only problem is that the transaction was verbal on the honor system.
