We were in contact with person listed above who claimed to be working for a large Thai export company of computer parts.  Listed person above send us company invoice with TT banking info and accurate company address info.

When we directly contacted export company directly, they notified us that invoice was fake and they has no employee or relationship with the person listed above.  They said they were fake.  Thai company reported person in question to local Thai authorities.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I know that this would be non-obvious for westerner but it is quite obvious for Thai people.

The first red flag is the name "Somchai Jaidee" which is normally used as an alias because it is too common. You could say that it is similar to "Robert Miller" in English.

The second clue is the area code of the phone number (096). It is a cellphone number but it is for a temporary sim that you can buy anyway, such as 7-11.

I hope that others will learn from this. Also, please do contact the main office when you get any invoice to ensure that it is really from the office. Again, I'm sorry to hear that you are scammed.
