Bringmethat.com showed up as an online menu of my local Chinese takeout and delivery restaurant.  I thought it was a contracted web presence of the restaurant, so I ordered on it. When problems ensued, the restaurant had no idea this company was even out there.

I ordered a couple items as large sized, and an orange chicken. Nothing complex about it. Select and click.  Then I keyed my name and address into some blanks.

In the blank for special instructions, I stated not to send it for delivery.  This is for pick-up.  An email confirmation came in, and I took off.

When I got to the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was that the menu prices were lower than the online prices.  Next, while I talked to the cashier who didn't have my order for pickup, and had no idea what online menu service I was talking about (they had no computer in the whole place), I got a phone call from their irate driver asking where my street was.  Yes, even though I keyed in not to deliver it. The street name was all garbled and didn't match anything in town. I apologized and asked him to please bring it back to the shop.

The food order cut my large items to smalls(!), and changed my orange chicken to chicken wings.  In addition, the receipt was 9 dollars lower than what I'd paid to bringmethat.com with my credit card. The restaurant was paid with a VISA that wasn't mine.

That tells me that this online company received my credit card number and took my money. They took their own credit card, phoned the restaurant, and called in my order for me.  This is after they posted a more expensive menu than what the restaurant uses, and upcharged accordingly.  But furthermore, they got an item wrong, downsized two more, and skimmed the additional price differences.  Then they ignored instructions to leave for pickup, and sent the driver to a fake street. For all that trouble, they overcharged me $9 than what I'd have paid had I phoned in the order from home.

This company doesn't even add a value to the process, like running to the restaurant and delivering to your home.  All they do is insert themselves into your web search results, take your credit card, phone in your order (in this case, incorrectly) and overcharge you for the inconvenience.

And, yes, I cancelled the credit card.
