I decided to check my credit report one day and I found that I has a collection from a Calvary Portfolio Serivce. They were the collectors on a sprint bill. This acct is not mine. Because I am active duty military stationed in guam I am not able to contact the directly. So I had my mom call for me. When she called and gave them the acct number that I was given it showed up under a totally different name. This company will not contact me or give me a way to contact them they pawned it off by telling me to call some hotline. which turns out to be An FBI tipe line. What do I do

Dispute it with the credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Transunion, and Experian.
There is a procedure for disputing items on your credit report. I'm just not sure what it is. But if you call one of the credit reporting agencies, or perhaps visit their website, it's likely you can learn what the procedure is.
