on 5/2206 I purchased a 2006 for taurus with 17000 miles from this dealer. The dealer fraudulently told me I have to buy a 4000$ undercoating in order for the bank to finance it.

I contacted the bank they told me they do not require that. I also contacted the consumer protection office in albany to see if I get the 4000$ refunded. I was giving a case number but nothing so far.

I also contacted the better business bureau but nothing. Today is the 8/11/06 and nothing is done yet. The dealer lied to me about the deal and charged me a outrageous price for a undercoating wich was never done. Now I try to get my 4000$ back somehow

I am SHOCKED! SHOCKED! I TELL YOU that a car dealer

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 11, 2006

would rip someone off!

Well, OK, not shocked.

The bad news is that they ripped you for a $4000 undercoat job which you belatedly found out you never needed, and besides the auto manufacturers DO NOT RECOMMEND that you EVER undercoat a car BECAUSE that undercoat will dry out, crack, and then collect water and salt. What happens when you hold water and salt against steel?

There are many websites that discuss how to buy a car- and how NOT to buy a car. I suggest you visit them. One is car buying tips which starts with "How To Buy New Cars & Avoid Car Dealer Scams"

The GOOD news for you is that they DID NOT actually put that undercoating on!

"The dealer lied to me about the deal and charged me a outrageous price for a undercoating wich was never done."

Note the part ".... which was never done."

Sue for the return of your money for non-performance rather than getting into a fight over the outrageous price.
