My foolish wife received a promise of a pendant that would bring her good luck. She went behind my back, and mailed these people $36 in cash! She never received the pendant. Now they are claiming that she owes them $42.50 for said pendant. I told her that she did not owe these people any more money, and that she should not have sent them cash in the first place. She is worried that this will effect her credit rating.
