 Yes, I understand that anything at some point might be a collectible.  The sad thing is that the pitch was these will definitely increase in value and within 2 - 6 years your investment would grow.  They stated facts that this would grow between 18 - 24%.

Bottom line is that if this is a good investment, these company's would be around.  They are gone.

 As with ANY item that you can profit off of by simply holding on to it, there is NO TIME FRAME as to WHEN it will become MORE valuable. Its TIME BASED and AVAILABILITY that causes a item to become more valuable. So while I would frown on them giving YOU a definitive time frame and amount it will increase, they are NOT actually WRONG!!! Its NOT a ripoff. What they told you IS accurate just NOT in the time frame they specified. If YOU are looking for items that increase in value quickly, then COLLECTABLES are NOT the area you need to be in. Collectables ALWAYS require TIME!!! And even then it MAY take more then YOUR LIFETIME to appreciate to an amount that makes it worth while to sell. I myself collect comic books and Card based games. One of my personal favorites was the Star Trek TNG collectable card game. At the time I started collecting them there was a Star Trek show multiple times a week. So I figured it wouldn't take too long to become valuable enough to collect. But!!!! the shows went off the air!!! So my time frame got extended. If one of the main casts dies, well it stands to reason that those cards WILL become more valuable. But until that time I have to wait. Your stamps WILL EVENTUALLY become more valuable. But it wont be tomorrow or the next day. There MUST be a demand AND a market to sell it at. I hope this helps clear up any confusion. If you wish more info just rebuttle your own post.
