Citywide is a dishonest air conditioning company. The technician does not diagnose a problem. The company just want to replace your air conditioning unit. I was told by Citywide that I needed a new unit and another company replaced a $15 part to repair the unit. STAY AWAY from Citywide, you have been warned. I have been told by other people this ia a common practice in this area.

Citywide will try to scam you out of everything they can.They lie to customer,and they lie to AHS.American home shield only pays so much per job,so if it's a simple repair they do ok,but if it's a major repair they will loose money,so thats where the scamming comes into play,if they cant put it off on a improper install,they will tell you,there are extra fees.Lets say your compressors bad,they will say the parts covered,but you are responsable for the freon,dispossal fee,and recovery fee which ends up costing you around $800 bucks for a cheap universal compressor,then they turn around on top of that and bill AHS,but instead of replacing the compessor,they end up talking you into just replacing the unit,they will tell you,well istead of putting all that money into that old unit,AHS will pay for all the labor,all you have to do is pay for the unit,which sounds good to you,because you feel like your getting a bargain,when in reality you end up paying $2500 they pay the service tech $300 for commision,spend $800 on a new unit,and come out smelling like a rose.There maintenance program is just another way for them to get into your house,so they can find something wrong,and bill AHS for a repair.No matter how your system works,they will always find something wrong while there out doing maintenance.They usually replace a contactor, capacitor,or relay,because they are cheap,and easy to install.They pay there employes pretty good,but it's not worth any amount of money,when you wake up everyday,and feel like you have to rip people off to make a living.You have been warned,so hopefully you will use this information wisely.

I too have used Citywide. I have been their customer for 2 years and will use no one else but Citywide. I have been burned by others and, after spending $600 with another company, my heat pump still didn't work!
Citywide showed me each problem and corrected the mess made by the other company. I went on their twice yearly maintenance plan and had no problems for the next 2 years until lightning struck the unit and destroyed it. Now I have a new unit installed by Citywide and it works perfectly.
I do wish I could get instant service but sometimes you have to wait in order to get the best. After all, when you are as good as Citywide you get extremely busy. It took 2 days to get them out after the lightning strike but I would have waited even longer to avoid getting burned by some other company.
