2008 Great Dane litter/Cynthia Sanders

I have what I consider to be an extremely important message to those who bought Great Danes from this and probably all of the Sanders litters. My harlequin male out of the 2008 litter died 9-18-12 at 4 years and 3 months old. A valve in his heart tore, his chest filled with blood and he was gone. We live 5 blocks from the vets and even with immediate attention he could not be saved. He had been to the vet not even a month before and everything was completely normal. He had what I consider to be a stellar medical history. I am putting this info out there for any others who may have purchased out of the Sanders litters. It is possible it is genetic. We (the vet) are uncertain and I am unable to contact Cynthia to find out the status of the mother and father of this litter.
Hope this reaches all who bought from these litters. Just in case.

What exactly did the pup die of? While I am in no way defending the breeder since there isn't much to this report, I have been working with animals my whole life, and ther are a million things that could kill a pup within ten hours that wouldn't have anything to do with the seller. I have seen people try to say their new puppy died of pnemonia and they had papers that said it had fluid in the lungs - reality was, the dog fell in the pool and drowned. Pnemonia again - reality, they force fed and aspirated. Bloat. Choking. You name it. I am very sorry for your loss, but you didn't really tell much of the story.
