I have an EMCO storm door: Forever Door - Fullview 3000 series, S/N 2532691. Plastic strips are used to retain the screen or glass insert. They are pressed-in and are generally easy to remove for glass/Screen changeout. However, o a cold day I split one of the strips and searched for replacement part, first at Home Depo and on the web. Home Depo found the part (#30845, SKU 7821-7740; set of four price was $58.99. Confirmed this in a call (1-800-933-3626) to EMCO.

I consider a price of $58.xx for four plastic (extrusion molded, likely) strips to be exorbitant. Expected more like $25, not including S&H

Anderson Strom Door Window Retainers

AUTHOR: Chris - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, January 06, 2018

Anderson storm door: Forever Door - Fullview 4000 series, S/N 0019899784. Plastic strips are used to retain the screen or glass insert. They are pressed-in and are generally easy to remove for glass/Screen changeout. One strip broke and searched for replacement part at Home Depo and on the web. Home Depo found the part (#30845); Price was $42.98. Would be nice if replacement parts were sold at Home Depot.

Retainers snap out and in to quickly change between glass panel and insect screen.

  • 2 side retainers for 80” doors

Same Problem, company hard to deal with

AUTHOR: Gratzman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 04, 2011

I had the same problem with my series 3000 door, the window retainer broke.  Still under warranty, I have sent three emails, sent proof of delivery, a response from Home Depot with invoice number and product description and date, and now have sent a copy of the online invoice, with still no parts shipped by Emco.  If the part I needed was available anywhere, for a REASONABLE price, I would have bought it rather than deal with Emco any more.  Unfortunately, they are the only place you can get parts, whether you pay for them or get them under warranty.  Home Depot should stock some of the needed parts along with the doors so their customers could get what they need without jumping through hoops.

I love the door, just hate dealing with the company that makes it.
