There was a minor scratch put on the car in a parking lot where I work.  The rental company and the repair company took advantage of the situation to inflate repairs. They billed for new metal, two stage refinish formula, loss of use for two days, $75,00 administration fees.  The rental agent said that they use the cheapest body shop to do the repairs.  

I believe that a small amoiunt of sanding and a can of spray paint would have had the same final results as the scratch did not dint the car at all.  The scratch was less than 4 inches long.  I wish that I had taken a picture of it.
