DURING A MOVE FRY WAGNER LOST $400 WORTH OF CHRISMAS ORNEMANTS/ITEMS AND ARE NOW REFUSING TO PAY THE INSURED CLAIM. DURING A MOVE THAT I MADE FROM LOS ANGELES, CA TO HOOKEN , NJ FRY WAGNER LOST A BOX OF CHRISTMAS ITEMS THAT WAS WORTH $400. I DID NOT NOTICE THESE ITEMS WERE MISSING UNTIL AFTER THE MOVING COMPANY HAD HAD LEFT MY NEW PLACE OF RESIDENSE. I WAS INSURED TO RECIVE FULL PAYMENT ON ALL ITEMS THAT WERE LOST DURING TRANSIT. FRY WAGNER HAS SENT ME A LETTER LETTING ME KNOW THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY THE CLAIM SINCE I HAD SINGED OFF ON EVERYTHING BEING REICIVED WHEN THE ITEMS WERE DROPPED OFF.

Response Incomplete

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 21, 2009

Fry-Wagner's response does not take into consideration that the box the ornaments were in may have been delivered, but the ornaments themselves were missing.  As such, the shipper would have signed the items as received but the contents as missing.  $400 in ornaments would not have taken an entire box....and the time span between delivery to destination and the claim filing would indicate the claim as being more credible than your response.  It's not like the shipper is claiming thousands of dollars in items were missing, or even something like jewelry is missing, which you don't cover anyway.  That's a sure sign of a rip off.

Fry-Wagner, your BEST response to this claim would have been to split the difference with the shipper - based on the fact that the shipper did sign the inventory form, but that there is no way you can prove through the claim process that his story is untrue.  I believe your shipper would at least accept that given the circumstance.

Fry-Wagner's Response

AUTHOR: Fry-Wagner Moving & Storage - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, September 21, 2009

Fry-Wagner Moving and Storage Company moved Mr. Rijavec from Hollywood, California to Hoboken, New Jersey on April 10, 2009.  On July 8, 2009 Fry-Wagner received a Claim Form from Mr. Rijavec noting that a carton of Christmas items was missing.  Fry-Wagners Claims Department immediately reviewed the move information and delivery documents, noting that Mr. Rijavec checked and signed for receipt of all items on the Inventory Control Form.  There were no exceptions taken at that time for a missing carton of Christmas items.  Federal regulations require that exceptions must be taken at the time of delivery if an item or items are missing on an interstate household goods relocation.  Given these facts, Fry-Wagner still took extra steps to check with all service parties involved in this move to further determine if a missing box for Mr. Rijavec had been found.  This trace came back negative.  Based on these findings, Fry-Wagner respectfully denied Mr. Rijavecs Claim.
