I have sent a total of 4 (four) certified letters quoting the cease & decist for stopping telephone calls from IC system. I even got a letter back from them stating that they had ceased calls as of October 17th. I thought all was great until the calls started coming again on the 29th, since October 29th, Ive gotten an average of 8-15 calls per day, all from IC System with the Caller ID # of 651-204-1329. This is CLEARLY harassment, even AFTER I got their letter saying they would stop.

These guys are RUTHLESS and are doing ILLEGAL things!

why we still call

AUTHOR: Roman - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 22, 2008

Out of curiosity, did you have multiple debts?

because you have to send one for each debt account you have.
make sure you put your reference number for the account in there.

I work at IC SYSTEM and we get a lot of mail saying do not call me anymore.
that doesnt work, there are proper ways of doing it.

That's a great idea

Great post Mr. Bob

It gets harder and harder to have pity for people who don't pay their bills and then whine when the companies want their money. I don't know why that amazes them.

A wise suggestion...

Here's an idea. maybe you could actually get a job and pay off the debt that IC System is clearly trying to collect on rather than sitting at home all day counting the number of phone calls you receive in the "12-17 minute" time spans. Also, if you actually make an effort at resolving the balance owed it will save you a lot of trouble instead of filing a lawsuit which you most likely will not win and can't afford anyway.

So..

You do know that depending on how many different account(s) is how many letters you need to do? For example if you 4 (four) accounts with I.C. System, they hold the right to call on all accounts until contact is made? Also, you have to send 4 (count them) FOUR letters, of Cease and Desist (not Decist) not just one. Don't assume that because the company has received does NOT mean the other accounts has seen them also.

Heres a suggestion, talk to the agency and see what you can work out to get the matter resolved and out of collections. If you can't at least they put calls on hold for 3 days.

"S", its all in the proper wording and form of the letter.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 07, 2006

"S",

When you send the CEASE COMMUNICATION request be sure to specify the number they have been calling, as sometimes this is the only way they can find it, believe it or not.

Also, quote the section of the FDCPA that you are exercising your rights under, and also specify that one more call brings an immediate lawsuit. Specify that you will sue the collector individually as well as the company.

When sending this letter send it only by certified mail, return reciept requested and BE SURE TO put the CERTIFIED# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. This procedure is VERY important. This method proves WHAT you sent. It backs up your case when you sue them.

Good luck!

That can be a criminal offense too

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

File a formal complaint with the police for the harassment and get your phone company to document the times and frequency of the calls.

It could actually fall under a state or federal stalking statute as well.

Go for the max and bury these idiots.

Also go to whocalledus and file a complaint against the phone # and see the complaints of other victims. This could help you in your lawsuit and possible criminal charges.

Good luck.

Today is Tuesday 11/7/2006.. Ever since my last report, Ive gotten an additional 34 phone calls from IC System, sometimes as much as every 12-17 minutes for several hours.. This is rediculous.

I've filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Comission, as well as the Contra Costa County District Attorney. My attorney is going to sue them for harassment. These guys don't seem to understand, you CAN'T collect a debt from someone whos debt it isn't is.
