Dear Sam Adel,
La Mirage Restaurant

I am writing to you in regards to my wedding on sept 23, 2006 at your restaurant. I would like some type of refund. When we gave the money of 2319.00 cash for the princess reception, it was our understanding as per your brochure and our conversation that you would take care of the flower arrangements, as well as open bar, champagne toast, food and cake. Me and Anthony took our time and went to the bakery in Poughkeepsie and picked out the kind of cake we wanted.

As you told us, we went back to you to let you know what we picked and the type of cake we wanted. Anthony clearly picked a cake that was not layered on top of each other. (From your pictures that you told us to choose from).

Well when we got the cake it was layered and looked like a birthday cake with colored flowers on it. It was terrible looking. I asked to speak with you and the lady (your employee) said that you were busy with the other wedding parties and that as soon as you were done you would come.

Well I never saw you. Well the night before when I wanted to talk to you and make sure everything was ok and give u the favors, guestbook and little things that I had to set up, you avoided me. I sat there waiting for a good half hour. Samantha said you were busy getting cheese cake. As I went to use the restroom I saw you in the room with the sinking dance floor room. You were talking to the bride in there and setting up the room for her. Her flowers had come in and you were setting that up. I waited and waited for you. Samantha told me you were going to be a while and that I just needed to set the stuff I brought in the room. I asked where the flower arrangements were. Samantha said they haven't come in yet but sam adel will set up the room nice.

Well the next day the room looked the same and as we came in I asked where the flower arranangements were. The employee said oh that's right I forgot them. She came in and put one flower, one baby's breathe on the table. The head table only had this as well. (this is not what I paid for) I paid for flower arrangements. If this was not included then why did you not let us know. You told us not to worry that we would have beautiful arrangements on the table. You obviously were lying and also doing false advertisement on the internet and also in your brochures.

Second problem, the champagne and open bar was all watered down. When I tasted the champagne it tasted like water. I did tell your employee and again she said that you were with the other wedding party and I would have to wait. Well my husband, my family and me are upset that we paid so much money and got so little.

Also another big complaint is that of anthony's mother. She went to the buffet and got a dish of food. She went to the restroom came back to find her food was gone. That is not right. This was inappropriate to move especially a plate of food that was full and untouched. How dare your staff do this. I felt like the service was rushing us. Especially when Anthony and me cut the cake the ladies could not wait to take the cake in the back. And where was our piece to take home?

How dare you take our money and not give us what we wanted or talked about. It seemed like when we talked to you, you had other ideas and we could not have our own. I tried talking to you about all these problems and you were nowhere to be found. You were with the other wedding party. Was it because you were making more money from them?

Why did I have all these problems on my wedding day was it because I got ripped off? May be. Anthony and me are a young couple and I feel like you took us for a ride told us not to worry and told us what we want to hear and that is wrong.

If a refund of some kind is not given for all the problems that we endured during our wedding day I will report you to the proper authorities for watered down drinks, false advertisement, improper business practices to the better business bureau and attorney general and also let Hudonvalley.com about the service you lie on the internet about. I hope to hear from you soon.
