I was looking to upgrade the power on my boat from a 115 mariner to a mercury 150, I had given Ronald Granier Posing as a licensed mechanic, he claimed he was going thru a divorce and lost his shop. so I paid a check for 3000 dollars for a 2004 boat motor mercury EFI with 84 hours on it, he would rebuild it and give a unlimited 3 year warranty. He requested me to pay upfront for the motor and he would have it rebuilt and installed on my boat in 3 weeks his famous words to me was I would not recognize this boat he was going to do such a good job and promised to make sure the motor replacement was done perfectly better than all other mechanics would do. He took my original motor off with no intention of rebuilding or selling me my motor I found out later he then tried to sell my original motor for 2400 dollars on craigslist. After hundreds of texts and emails from him claiming he was working on the boat and it was almost ready, promising me he was doing extra work, and going far and beyond what any other mechanic would do. He sent me a text saying he was going out of business short version, but he would still fix my boat, when i talked to him on the phone he said he spent my money on personal issues and could not fix my boat, i called the police 911, met a sheriffs officer at the last location of the boat and there it was missing electronics, radio, boat motor, fishing gear, etc. we called him and he promised the police he would fix my boat as promised, the st Tammany parish sheriffs officer i have his name promised me he would personally make sure he was arrested if he did not put the boat back together. Ronnie Granier sent me text and phone calls saying he knew people threatening if i would go to the police he would get out of it because of his connections to the police short version.

Finally after 3 weeks or a police officer allowed me to get my boat finding out that he did not own the property the boat was on. The boat was a mess the motor would not crank starter would just spin like he damaged the motor intentionally. I have contact the police filled out a police report they promised that a detective would contact me, no call, nothing he claimed he knew people and somehow someone has been bought to not arrest him, he committed many crimes, falsified a contract after it was signed changing editing, bait and switch, excepted a check for and boat motor with no intention of delivering it, damaged my property and then threatened me with his connections to the police and for me to beware of his connections. I contacted mechanics in the area and found out he has done this many times to people and he lied about this when I gave him the check he had a fried of his theyre saying he was reliable so he had people in on this fraud crime with him deceiving me. I will continue my pursuit of this criminal and trying to get my property back, damage to my boat and my 3000 dollars. If anyone has similar dealings with a Ronald Granier please contact me fwust@hotmail.com thanks

My own experience with Ronnie

AUTHOR: Charles - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 04, 2013

I have been ripped-off by several mechanics in my area. Out of desperation, I called on a mechanic in a town just north of my own. Ronnie made an appointment to come and inspect my outboard, and did so in a timely manner and free of charge. I paid a deposit and he took my outboard to his shop.

Ronnie called me a few days later and we discussed the options available to me. I made my choices and he prepared an estimate. A week later, my engine was being built. He tore it down to nothing and had it machined, built, and even painted for the agreed price. There were even a couple freebees that he threw in.

I have seen Ronnie work and he is remarkable. I have taken several of my boats to him and been amazed. I recently purchased a boat powered by twin Ficht motors and he has helped me out several times with them. He warned me to stay away from those engines, but I just couldn't passup the deal. He is such a good person and cares so much for his customers that he had me haul my boat to him at 11pm so that he could get it running right so that I could still take my family on a deep sea trip the next day. I slept in his recliner that he keeps in his shop while he repaired my engine and only charged me 150.00!!!!

The guy is human and may have his qwerks, but overall, I am more than pleased with what he has done for me. I will continue to hire Ronnie to service my boats for the forseeable future.

The Truth

AUTHOR: obtech1 - (United States of America)

There is always two sides to a story , so I am going to give my side and you the consumer can be the judge of it.. On Jan.31st 2012 Mr.Wust arrived at my former residence in which I was operating out of.  Mr. Wust stayed around my house all day while I was working and had customers coming and going and hanging around as they always do. I am a factory certified technician for Yamaha, Suzuki,Honda,OMC.... My knowledge speaks for itself!! When we started to discuss the work to be performed on Mr.Wust boat, he informed me that the last time he took his boat out the engine Mariner 115 had just shut down on him and would not re-start.. The motor was not running when he brought it to me . Mr.Wust agreed to purchase a 2004  Mercury 150 for the price of 4100.00 and he agreed on this price.. At this time I generated a service repair order #012704  which Mr.Wust signed and gave me a deposit for 3000.00 for the job.. I have the signed work order and would be more than glad to provide a copy for any concerned parties.. A few weeks later I informed Mr.Wust that the transom on the boat would need to be raised 5" for a few reasons. One being that the extra weight of  V-6 outboard on the 20" transom would be subject to water entering the bottom cylinders , which would definitely cause engine failure .. the other reason is for performance issues.. at this time the boat had been completely de-rigged as it is part of the process in re-powering the boat. He said that he could not afford to get the glass work performed. I then told him that I would try to sell his 115 Mariner to cover the cost of the modification. He agreed! Then when i listed his motor dor sale on craigslist he suddenly turned into a combative individual and accused me of screwing him. Made threats to me on the phone , which I filed a police report against him .  And became very difficult to deal with . I then told him to come pick up his boat when I had time to re-install his 115 mariner .. He called the police and falsely claimed I stole his engine and destroyed his boat and stole his electronics and some imaginary fishing gear he claimed he had in the boat .. The police contacted me and I told them i had the motor at my friends storage and the electronics were in my house and nothing was discussed about this imaginary fishing gear . I had already paid 2000.00 deposit to a man which i was purchasing the mercury 150  from to re-build and sell to Mr.Wust. that was not refunded. There was labor involved in de-rigging and re-installing the engine , transducers, controls on the boat. So all of the information Mr.Wust has spread all over the internet is completely false and I have all the documentation to prove it . I will be more than glad to provide copies of any and all documentation regarding this matter. I have been an outboard technician for many years and never in my life have I had to deal with a fkn clown like this. The lord sees all this and he knows the truth as well as Mr.Wust and I . You will have to answer to him one day Fred. I hope I am nowhere around you when that happens. I can be contacted at rgranier@yahoo.com for any comments or questions. There is always two sides to a story and here is the true one. We both know this
