Lucre, Inc. is a telephone company licensed to provide telephone services in the state of Michigan.  We are not now, nor have we ever been, a telemarketing company.

There are several problems with this complaint.  First, if Lucre has a customer that performs telemarketing, it is no different than if AT&T had a telemarketing company for a customer.  In other words, we simply provide phone service and we have no control over the usage or content by the customer. 

Second,  in many cases, Lucre has investigated these types of complaints only to discover that the phone number was unassigned and that someone was using an online, VOIP service to spoof the originating telephone number.  There is no way for Lucre, or any telephone company for that matter, to prevent this from happening or to track or discover the responsible party. 

Finally, Lucre fully investigates every known complaint and in cases where issues with a customer are confirmed, we discontinue providing service to that customer (within the constraints of telecommunication laws and contractual obligations).
