This company provided a contract stating that they would send AKC papers within 15 days of purchase of our English Bulldog. Mind you, we paid $1,600 for this dog and they still haven't sent the AKC papers and it's been almost 6 weeks since we purchased the dog! They violated a legal contract! Who knows if this dog is even what they say it is?!

Family owned business or not, a contract is a contract. If the contract clearly states that the AKC papers will be sent within 15 days, the seller must follow the contract. It does not take more than a week or two to submit/receive a standard registration certificate from the AKC.
Knowing that it has been six weeks, (and still no papers) something is just not right. The purebred status of the English Bulldog cannot be proven without papers.
The reason why (in this case) the AKC papers are important is simply because it proves the dog's purebred status through documentation. Without the AKC papers, one cannot know what genetic/heredity problems the puppy will face while growing up, which is unfair for the buyer.

Defending Malsons

I do understand your frustrations, it took longer than expected to get the papers for my bulldog. I do think that you should look at the quality of the dog, and not the length of time it took to get the papers. My dog has a wonderful temperment, and compared to most bulldogs that I have seen, she is one of the best looking out there. I feel like the quality of my dog is superb, and the negative comments about Malsons Bulldogs is doing unjust harm to a family's buisiness. I also spoke to a animal control officer, just to see for myself, and they have been out to the property every year for the last three years, and have found no valid complaints. I do hope that all the negative info on the internet does not discourage people from going to Malsons, they really have sold me a beautiful dog, and I would definately get another dog from there.
