I specifically went through and canceled my account about a month before it
was supposed to renew. I edited then hid my profile to say I was closing my account because I was receiving so many unwanted emails from very nasty people. The
day after my account term ended, I was still receiving unwanted emails, so I went to see why. Not only had they changed my profile to show me as an active member again, but
they also charged me. I have emailed and called three times with no responses, and finally had to file a fraud complaint with my credit card.

They ripped me off too!

AUTHOR: Dallas Native - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, April 17, 2010

Match.com ripped me off to.  What they do is have a hidden paragraph buried in the very lengthly legal terms that you agree to when you click the "I accept" button.  This is the one that no one reads or it would take a whole day.  What it says is that you automatically agree to renew when your subscription ends.

For instance, say you sign up for a three month membership.  When the three months ends, you think your membership is over and your credit card won't be charged again, right?  Wrong!  Match.com rips you off by continuing to bill your credit card until you call them and complain, all because of this buried paragraph designed by their shyster lawyers.

My advice is to stay away from Match.com; there other other dating websites that don't screw you like this.  Match.com has a bad reputations for ripping people off; just look at all the complaints filed against them.
