This letter was sent to the collection agency who is trying to collect for fraudulent billing on the behalf of Metrocall Wireless.

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to our attention that your company is trying to collect a debt Metrocall that is not valid. Our company had been doing business with Metrocall since it had bought the contract from AT&T when we established alpha-numeric service in 1992.

In October of 2003 we had temporary lost our pager. Our company paid a premium to have the pager insured against loss. When we called Metrocall for a replacement pager we ended up getting quotes from several other companies who sell services and pagers as well. We had received a quote from Pagenet for a text messaging pager for $125.00 for a year of service. We asked a Metrocall representative when we call to replace the pager we lost if they could match prices of other companies. The representative asked questions about the price we wanted matched. We gave her the name of the company and there website address to verify this information. She said that they could match the price of the competitor (Pagenet). So, we ordered a text messaging pager from Metrocall.

Two days latter we found our old pager. We called Metrocall back and cancelled the text messaging pager. Metrocall was then asked if they could match the pricing of the alpha-numeric pager that Pagenet was offering. There representative stated yes they could. Pagenet was offering there alpha-numeric pager service for $99.00 per year. We thought everything was handled on Metrocall's side and that we would start receiving the new price quote.

A month went by; we received a bill in the mail for $125.00 for a year of service for text messaging. We called Metrocall back and told them that we do not have text messaging pager. We told them that we had ordered one but cancelled it because we found our old pager. We told Metrocall that our bill should be $99.00 for a year of alpha-numeric service. Their representative apologized and told us that she would take care of it.

The next month came and we were now being charged $34 and some odd cents a month. We again attempted to get the problem corrected. Another Metrocall representative told us that they will get back to us in a week. We asked the Metrocall representative what they would give us for all the hassels. She stated that they would correct the bill and give us a free month of service. We agreed that would be fair. We again received another incorrect bill $50.00 some dollars per quarter. We call Metrocall again and told them to cancel our service. I told them that they had false advertised to us by stating they would match a competitor's price and did not follow though they offered to fix it. We told them we had a enough of the promises.

Several months went by a woman called from Metrocall asking why we have not paid our bill. We told her why and told her the website she could go to check the price. She said it wasn't her job to do price comparisons for customers. I said fine, I asked for her information on previously times that I had called. She did not want to give me the information on who we had talked to there at Metrocall even though she confirmed most of the information in this letter and obviously, she did not follow up with our telephone conversation with her to check prices.

I told her the only way we would even consider using there service again is for them to match the competitors price and give us three free months of service for the hassle. She would not agree. I was then sent a mailing from Metrocall stating that they want us back as customers, but if we would not sign back up they would turn us into collections.

Our company wants nothing to due with Metrocall anymore. We have service though a new provider and Metrocall could not give us there service for free. This company responds to its cliental with service not like Metrocall. There no gimmicks and could never see fit to changing back. In business you need to respond to the customers request in a timely fashion and if you don't you lose them as customers. To slander someone or a company of not paying it bills won't earn back the trust of the customer either. We know this because we are in business.

I hope this answers your questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Alan
