Misleading, should be shut down. With a quick check on the BBB site, I found that they're on their way since their license was revoked on 10/14/04! Doesn't help me much now. They gave me a quote of $740 and once the move was OVER, and my boxes already put into my storage bin, the final bill came to $1,700!!

They charged me $25 for EACH PAD they used to wrap my furniture, even though my quote says that the pads are INCLUDED. I've made 3 calls to date. I did speak with Michael Cattan the owner, with a promise to look into it. Of course, no response. My next move is COURT yours should be to GO WITH ANOTHER MOVER. RIPOFF!!

Blankets Are Not Free

AUTHOR: Shell - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, November 27, 2004

I work with a moving company and can see this from both sides. Although the final cost of your move was tremendous, based on your estimate, you could not have expected to be given moving blankets. When we move a customer into mini-storage, or any other storage other than our own, we inform them that they will need to provide their own moving blankets. We have sold our moving blankets to customers before, but only when they have been notified of the cost prior to the move.

When a shipment is delivered to storage(other than the movers warehouse), the mover has no way of knowing if the customer will return the very expensive blankets. When I first read your complaint, I felt for you. But now that I know that you still had the companies property, of course you price will go up!

Michael's Movers - responding to my initial report

AUTHOR: Tracy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 12, 2004

Since I filed this rip off report, Michael's Movers (the owner and his partner) have contacted me. We worked together and negotiated a fair settlement. While I still feel that I was mislead about the blanket charges - they have taken action and have tried hard in communicating with me and making me, the customer - happy. My major issue was the $25/blanket charge. They have agreed to refund part of that per blanket charge when I return the blankets once I've moved out of my storage bin. As they have pointed out to me MANY, MANY times "we cannot make everyone happy." And this is true - but at least they're trying. Thanks for the effort. Sincerely - (not so) Mad Mover

I feel quite badly about this report against Michael's Moving. My own experience had led me to use this company several times in both personal and professional moves. I have also recommended this company to others who have never voiced any wrong doing on the part of Michael's Movers. As a matter of fact, they have been heralded by several people I have recommended for their accuracy in estimates, professionalism and
gentle handling of merchandise. I hope the customer who has so vehemently reacted to Michael's Movers is able to resolve his abberant issues amicably.
