The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Maureen Tara Nelson during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards MTN Matchmaking.

MTN Matchmaking is a matchmaking service that is dedicated to helping people find a healthy and lasting relationship. Maureen Tara Nelson stated the following about her company, "We have a very thorough screening process we are not for everyone. And I can’t accept everyone because if I did I would be like the other companies that have been out there that have all gone out of business for doing the wrong thing. My model is to do a criminal felony background check in every state on all of my clients. Then as the owner, they come to me and meet with me personally and I give them a free consultation because I need to make sure that I think I can help them. The screening process when I meet with them I make sure that everyone is a nice decent, quality, positive person, emotionally stable. I am an executive level certified matchmaker and there are only a few of us in the country."

Leads for MTN Matchmaking are primarily obtained through television appearances on NBC, CBS, HBO, and A&E. Additionally, they advertise through print, commercials, and social media. Ms. Nelson proceeded to explain the sales and services process for her clients, "What a client can expect is a free consultation where I go through the screening process with them. Then they come in and I have to get to know their personality to the point that I am matching them with 3 parts of compatibility. This is my own private method I do it by hand I don't do it by a computer algorithm. On the interview, they will know about the screening process and how I do the matching by 3 parts of compatibility. They also have homework to do before they come in they have to think about what their 5 best qualities are. Then they have to think of what the 5 must haves are for the man or woman. They are also asked to wear something nice because if they like the program I will take their photo. So, I meet with them for an hour but the longest interview I have had was 4 hours because sometimes. I do a tiny personality test at my home office. Everyone leaves here with a packet that goes over all the information of what we go over here. They get a welcome letter, they get a letter on what to expect as a client and the most important thing is a list of do’s and don't s in dating. Then once they tell me Yes I love the program then we go over the different program. I have 5 programs for them to choose from ranging in price from $995 up to a celebrity program as well. If a person is celebrity lives here on Long Island my prices are $6500 which may seem like a lot to a person who is an accountant let's say but they won't pay that unless they are a celebrity. And then I go into how it works. If a person is compatible in 3 ways as well as having the 5 must-haves they will get an email on Tuesday evenings with the person's photo and a little bio about them and their only job is to say yes or no."



CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – MTN MATCHMAKING

MTN Matchmaking was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Ms. Nelson explained that there are no guarantees in the matchmaking world. She additionally stated, "I will always do my best I will match you appropriately and make sure they have your 5 must haves but there are things I do not have control over. I do not have control over if a woman or man say yes to each other. I don't have control over if you go out on a date with a man and you are very nasty to the wait staff. Those are on you and those are the ones that complain. I bring them back to the point of what it was like to date without Maureen? So with people, there are times that they come in and they are unhappy. If they tell me about it soon I can fix it but there are some people that they came in acting positively and they were not. I can’t help people like that. If they are patient, open-minded, and positive I can help them."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Ms. Nelson expressed that the comments made were false and didn't align with her business model. Ms. Nelson stated the follow to assure future and current clients, "I am an executive level certified matchmaker and there are only a few of us in the country and that is through the Institute of Matchmaking. Then they will see every year we win Dan’s papers which is primarily Suffolk county here on Long Island for best dating service. What they factor in is Match.com and every kind of dating service out there. These awards are people that vote in. I am up against Tinder and all those swipe apps. For Nassau and Suffolk county combined there is the biggest award for every business owner. I think there are 3000 categories of businesses. What they do is they pick the top 3 that people vote in for. Every year I have come in the top 3. We were just notified this year that we came in first place. We are super excited because that is huge! I have citations from controllers on long island...the politicians...the county clerks. They can't be bought off and these are people in the community that have said hey there is a matchmaker here on Long Island who goes above and beyond for her clients and has given me awards. I have an A+ rating with the BBB. I am also a certified wedding officiant."

When I first met Maureen she was so nice and promised me everything.  I told her that I lived out east and was concerned that there would not be many matches.  She said that she had many, many professional men and that there would be no problem.  What a scam.  One man I spoke to over the phone I could not wait to hang up on.  When I called to tell her office about my phone conversation. they cut me off and laughed and asked me if I had a problem with his sense of humor. 

Apparently they knew before I even explained to them.  It continued to go down hill.  My matches became further and further west.  Of course this was not what was promised me but Maureens come back was, "Oh dont worry, the men will come to you."  That's great Maureen if we met once but I was not interested in dating someone that lived over an hour away.  Again, that was not what I had paid for. 

Everything that people have written in these reports are dead on true.  She should be out of business for fraid.  I would certainly be willing to be part of a class action suit against her.  It was the worst experience I have ever had.  To make matters worse she just decieded that I was no longer a client of hers when I still had years on my contract.  A complete total scam.  Please do not join her services.  There are far better things to do with your money.  She only excepts cash or check, I get why now.

Negativity only bring negative results

I am the owner of MTN Matchmaking. I have 14 years of experience in helping singles find love. In fact, I have over 1000 success stories of very happy clients. It is a shame, that rip off report does not let them write their happy stories! 

As any business person knows, there are always going to be some people that do not look at the glass half full. These are the few singles that I have met over the years that choose to be negative and have the time to say lies about my company. There are just some people that complain about every service they come in contact with! 

My clients are realistic and know that being positive always helps to make them successful. If a client is negative, they will not be successful. Not in my program, and not in life in general. 

It is very sad when someone spends very precious time being negative about anything in life. If you are a positive person, you will always be successful with my service, because my team will always do whatever it takes to make you successful!

Dear Readers,

Please read this complaint and ask yourself what is her complaint? First she didn't say who she is, so how can I address it properly? The good thing about Rip off report is that if you buy someone and it is not what is presented, you can tell people about it. However in an industry like mine, there will always be some people, about 1% that do not take our advice, and I can't make them successful. In a case like that, all they have to do is call me and tell me they are upset, and I will do whatever it takes it make that person successful!

Unfortunately, as you can see, there are some woman that instead of calling me and asking for help, they say lies about my company! I wish I could make everyone successful, but I am sure everyone knows, it is impossible. There are also some people who are easier to match than others. Then there are some people that after working with them, we see the "real side of their personality" and they lose their membership! Obviously they say lies about us because they will never think it is "them" as the reason why they are not successful in meeting a man.

In this case, the woman is complaining because she didn't like the jokes a man said over the phone. Our response was that perhaps she didn't get his sense of humor. If I am correct on who this client is, I remember the phone conversation. The man is a great catch; funny, intelligent, handsome and very financially stable! What else could she want? Even if she didn't get his funny sense of humor on the phone, she still should have gone out with him because she was compatible with him. 

As for her claim of my promises, I tell every person the same thing, I cannot promise you anything other than you will meet great, quality men in my program! Everyone on Long Island needs to be open to meeting singles on Long Island. I say the same thing to everyone. 

In January, I did have to go though my data base of 1500 clients and see who had expired. I had given a lot of "free time" to clients if they had not found someone yet in 2014. So I did email any clients that were given free time and had expired and asked if they would like to continue. 

In this particular case, if she was unhappy with the service, she simply could have called me. Instead, she chose to go down the road of writing in a negative report on my company on rip off report! There are always going to people in this world that like to "complain" and have the time to "slander" a companies reputation...I cannot stop them. However, I ask you to read all of the complaints and my reputtals on all of them. Hopefully you will see that I take every complaint seriously and do my best to try to make everyone successful! 

I have been matchmaking for over 14 years with over 1000 success stories. My record proves that I care about my clients and will do everything possible to help them! 

New clients come in every day after reading the rip off reports, because they want to find out for themselves if the program is right for them or not! A woman just told me the other day that she could tell from the comments that the people complaining never actually have a real problem. In her words, "there are always going to be complainers in every type of industry. They also are typically people that complain about every thing they buy or any service they do. These complainers never once think that they are the problem. How do they expect you to make them successful in finding love when they are so negative and mean?" This client joined my service and is the most positive client I have, and is already successful. I couldn't have answered it better myself.

So please come in for your FREE consultation and decide for yourself, if successfully servicing thousands of clients over 14 years is a good enough record for success? Also, do you think it is possible for me to make everyone successful? I assure all of you, if you are a positive, happy, kind, realistic person looking for a relationship and you take our advice, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL! 

PS. It is not true that I only accept checks or cash??? Of course I accept credit cards...
