After the agreed upon terms and the handshake John demoed the place and then work started well.. another week he took a cruise with his wife for ten days and everything went to S*** and he bled the job, me, and then abandoned the project threatening to file a lien, etc.. after overcharging and defrauding me for weeks! He didn't pull permits either! He sold himself as a licensed contractor and honorable former Marine... napa California

I reported Napa valley Remodel when John became injured and didn't show on the project for a week.  I was fuming mad and maybe jumped the gun a bit in not hearing from John (I fould out afterwards how serious his back injury was and the amount of pain he was in incapacitated him).  He came up to my place face to face and set it all straight.  We worked it all out and am glad.  Can't seem to make this report go away.  John's work was above GOOD and the issues I'd had happened without his presence on the job and this is what infuritated me as I was squeezed on timelines, sick with pnuemonia, and my budget was shrinking like a noose around my neck!!!  I am actually quite happy with the work.  John says he isn't but the guy IS a pretty good designer as well...  This place came out very well and John made good on everything in the end.  SO, READ THIS REBUTTAL as John isn't as bad as my bite....  Thanks and thqanks to John for being a MAN and handling business (That's a rare thing these days!!!).

I posted a report on this business as my project was what I'd taken to have been abandoned as the builder had actually suffered a back injury that had him out of comission and I was sick and squeezed to move in when my place wasn't quite there yet....  Things happen and I reacted impatiently and severely (having once been scammed by a builder).  John proved me wrong for jumping the gun some but there were still lose ends.  John came up and saw me and looked me straight in the eye and we worked it all out.  He was not there in the end to have supervised the work and it suffered because of this.  This set me off.  I understand since the extint of his back injury and am empathetic as when it's painful enough to knock one down, well, that's no fun!  John more than made good and his work stands as a testiment.  I to say in retrospect, John has a great deesign sense as well as an ability to build well.  After things have settled I'm quite pleased with the ideas of his we'd gone with....  Labor isn't cheap in this market and what I'd thought outrageous is now the standard (John was correct).  Still, John actually handed me back some money telling me that he was sorry he hadn't been there in the last of it and he remidied some things left hanging as well as is going to redo anything I am not happy with...  This day and age, that's bloody RARE!  John has made a believer out of me and I reegret filing this report.  This site is an amzing resource and am glad it's here....  As a formerly ticked off client who's been converted (strongly), I felt more than obligated to write this and post it....
