National Engineering Services Corporation ripoff Failure to pay employee;, firing, someone on day of resignation Houston Texas
*Consumer Comment: Welcome to the wonderful world of job shops ..they're only interested in biling your time to the client
I worked on contract for this firm for about 3 months and was required by the terms of my contract to provide two weeks notice of intent to resign.
A few hours after I resigned they told me I was fired and refused to pay any compensation for those 2 weeks.
Anyone working for this firm should be cautioned that they are unscrupulous and will rip off your wages... don't resign, simply don't show up.

Sorry to hear that you got canned because you put in your notice, but this happens all the time in contract work.
Although you didn't say so, I suspect NESCO had you working at a client company and you put your notice in to the client - and the client is the one who had NESCO let you go.
NESCO is just like the thousand other job shops out there: they're only interested in biling your time to the client. That means they won't let you go unless either you leave or their client says to let you go.
In the contract business, never put your notice in unless you're ready to leave THAT DAY. Because what happened to you is more the rule than the exception.
