I'm am a tax preparer and I recommended that some of my clients get a prepaid card if they didn't have a bank account. Turbo tax offers the netspend card, a lot of my clients applied, got approved and mailed the card after sending their tax refund to it just to be told by Netspend they couldn't activate the card. Some ppl never even received a card. In order for them to get their refund now they have to wait weeks for a check if netspend sends the money back to the IRS... Which I think netspend is trying to rip off tax refunds.
