Gosh where do I start. A few weeks ago I left my story on here. I had gotten my house from my mother and father when they passed away. I wanted to some improvements on the home so I took out a loan with New Century Mortgage. They only kept my mortgage long enough for me to make my first payment before they sold it to Ocwen. The very first thing from Ocwen was a call saying I had not paid the first payment.

I faxed paper work showing them I had indeed made it to New Century. I actually got someone nice and she found out that when they changed my account number they did not transfer the payment. Even though they found the error, they still charged me late fees. Things went pretty good for a while, then late fees starting showing up, drive-by fees, property fees, you name it, they charged me for it.

Also charged me for letters sent by thier Attny's Moss.. etc etc. I never recieved the letters I was paying for. I went on a forebearence program to make up on these charges. Once I was off that forebearence payment.. things again went pretty good for a little while. Then again, late fees, insurance charges etc..
I had rented the house and moved away and had gotten married. I knew my renter was making the payment quick collect because she was sending me recepts. I had big problems with the renter after 1 year, not with her making payments, but she destroyed the house.

My husband lost his job and with the property not rented and repairs needed to be made. I called Ocwen and told them what was going on, this was in July 2003. I had to Send like $2000 in Jan. 2004. and then they would put me on another forebearance plan, my husband started a new job in March 2004 and I got a new renter, My husband was going to get paid once a month. I was not able to pay the full amount to catch up on March 1, 2004 on the date they wanted.

I had spoken to a person from Ocwen and made arrangements to pay. I had more than 1/2 of the payment and was going to send the rest quick collect in like a week. I got a call from their collection dept... and They said NO. Now the charges started pilling up. Well to make a long story short. I thought I was lucky because my new renter wanted to buy the house. We (myself and the bank financing my renter) called and told them that they would get their money and soon. Well, I like to have never gotten the payoff.. they stalled and finally I had to send them my original agreement with New Century before I could get the payoff. About 2 weeks prior to this, they had sent me a statement for insurance, going to charge me for 1 year. I told them the new buyer had purchased new insurance and that I was not going to pay except up to July 1, 2004. All was agreed.

I finally got the payoff, which I thought included the insurance charges. The payoff was good until July 30, 2004. Today I get a call from Ocwen (July 30, 2004), they recieved the payoff check but refuse to accept it because now I have $1200.00 insurance charged to my account. I have the title company who did the transactions when I sold the home working in my favor. But today I don't know what is going on. It amazes me, my $39,000 loan has cost me now around $90,000. I paid on this loan for 3 years @450.00 per month, then you add all the late charges etc.. and I payed $5,000 at closing more than I borrowed, and now they want $1200.00 more while holding a check for $40,000 (plus). This may stop me from selling my house after all. I had hoped they would not win. Even though I had to sell my house, my inheritence - I just didn't want them getting my home. I have no more fight left in me. And you would think with all of us who are having or have had problems with Ocwen that someone, anyone higher up would step up to the plate and say ENOUGH!
