I call to Poland Dec.5.2004 and SBC long distance charged me for 55 minutes 152.90 dol. I think this is big rip-off.

When you sign up for long distance you are asked if you make any international calls and if you do you have to sign up for a plan. SBC is not different than any other company like AT&T, MCI etc etc as far as if you do not have an international plan you are charged "rack rates" which are very high per minute. I ran into the same thing a few years ago with AT&T and when I called them I explained to them that we normally don't make international calls but it was a family emergency (I was respectfull and did not demand a refund) I simply and politely asked them if anything could be done about the per minute rate and the representive adjusted 50% of the charges (which was better than nothing since it was my fault) and I signed up for an international plan. Remember you get more flys with honey than you do vinegar. I hope this helps
