Secured Financial Award check scam Ontario Canada

I received today a letter from the Secured Financial Award Inc. telling me that I was declared a winner of the sweeptakes conducted through a random computer ballot in June. Enclosed with the letter a check for 3875.00 .

There is a number to call a lady on the phone ( Mrs. Rebecca Davis)expained that if I shopped at Target, Costco or Walmart I was enter in the sweeptakes, because they got the information from the use of my debit card.....wow!!! that is scary.....

My check is from Suntrust in Atlanta , GA. I called the bank and they told me that the check was fake .

Please do not cash the check , you will be responsible for the amount.
